Stanford Roundtable on Entrepreneurship Education — Europe 2010
“Innovation for Pedagogy: Design and Entrepreneurship Education”
This year’s Stanford REE Europe will focus on the topic of “Design and Entrepreneurship”. It will combine a group of leading entrepreneurship and design educators from throughout Europe, so that they might learn from each other. What is the difference between teaching design and entrepreneurship? How might we improve our pedagogy and learn from each other in order to deliver better learning, more innovation and increase the number of innovative new ventures from the halls of our academies? Why is design so important for entrepreneurs to embrace, what are design methodologies of teaching, and what does a design philosophy look like?
The conference content will include three keynote talks, including an interactive session with a venture capitalist and a talk from an entrepreneurship educator. In addition, there will also be a special session on future trends in entrepreneurship education, a panel on design and entrepreneurship, and two parallel breakout sessions surrounding six distinct learning tracks. These include:
- What Entrepreneurship Educators can Learn from Design Educators and Design Methods
- Student Venture Capital Funds and Angel Investment Networks
- Experiential Entrepreneurship Learning: Innovation in Pedagogy
- Creative use of technology in Entrepreneurship Education
- Teaching Social Enterprise and Social Entrepreneurship
- Outreach Programmes delivering Entrepreneurship Education
The Host Institution for the European Stanford REE 2010 is the School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh. The Primary Sponsor is Informatics Ventures, a project of the School of Informatics that is funded by the European Union.
